Professor So Young Yoo's research lab focuses on neuropsychiatry and medical imaging, particularly using neuroimaging techniques like voxel-based morphometry and MRI to investigate brain structure abnormalities in psychiatric disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder. The lab also explores psychological and behavioral health aspects during public health crises, including the development and validation of anxiety and addiction scales related to social media and viral epidemics. Additionally, the lab contributes to pediatric and maternal-fetal radiology by studying rare conditions like neonatal ovarian torsion and hepatic nodules in childhood cancer survivors. These interdisciplinary efforts integrate neuroscience, radiology, and mental health assessment to improve clinical understanding and patient care.

15To examine regional abnormalities in the brains of patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), we assessed the gray matter (GM) density using voxel-based morphometry (VBM). We compared magnetic resonance images (MRIs) acquired from 71 OCD patients and 71 age- and gender-matched normal controls and examined the relationship between GM density and various clinical variables in OCD patients. PURPOSE: Our aim was to retrospectively review the imaging findings of patients with neonatal ovarian torsion, emphasizing prenatal and postnatal sonographic findings. METHODS: Eleven patients who had had neonatal ovarian torsion diagnosed surgically (n = 9) or clinicoradiologically (n = 2) were enrolled. Benign hypervascular hepatic nodules in survivors of childhood malignancy occur years after high-dose chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Dynamic MRI findings including intense arterial enhancement and absence of washout in the delayed phase are of great value in the differential diagnosis of these hepatic nodules.

This study aimed to validate the schoolteachers' version of the Stress and Anxiety to Viral Epidemics-9 (SAVE-9) scale. This scale assessed the work-related stress and anxiety response of schoolteachers to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 400 schoolteachers participated in an online survey between March 4 and 15, 2021. The survey questionnaire included the schoolteachers' version of the SAVE-9, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and Generalized Anxiety Disorders-7 (GAD-7) scales. A scree t
