Professor Sok Woo Park's research lab specializes in clinical and translational studies focusing on renal and urological diseases, with a strong emphasis on acute kidney injury, metabolic acidosis in kidney transplant recipients, and the preservation of residual renal function in peritoneal dialysis. The lab also investigates molecular mechanisms in head and neck cancers, particularly the interplay between nitric oxide and inflammatory pathways, and contributes to the management of rare conditions such as lymphatic malformations and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. Their work bridges basic science insights with practical clinical applications, aiming to improve patient outcomes through early risk prediction and targeted therapies.

The overexpression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) has been previously reported in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), as well as in many cancers. BACKGROUND: The endocannabinoids, anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG), are considered promising potential anticancer agents.
