Professor Soo-Cheon Park's research lab specializes in cerebrovascular interventions and neurovascular diseases, with a focus on endovascular treatments for intracranial aneurysms, stroke, and intracranial atherosclerosis. The lab investigates stent-assisted coiling, thrombectomy techniques using devices like the Solitaire stent, and the long-term safety and efficacy of various stents (e.g., self-expandable and balloon-expandable) in preventing restenosis and improving clinical outcomes. Additionally, the lab explores neuroimaging biomarkers, such as quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and gray matter volume changes, to understand iron accumulation and neurodegeneration in aging and early Alzheimer’s disease.

Contrast leakage or a pseudoaneurysm or both seen on angiography are active bleeding foci and targets for therapy in patients with acute bleeding in the head and neck area. Despite different bleeding-control strategies according to vessel involvement, endovascular treatment is safe and effective for controlling hemorrhage.
Our study demonstrates that DES shows long-term stability and safety, and results in good clinical outcomes with a low rate of restenosis.

Our real world experience indicated a slightly lower overall prevalence of incidental intracranial saccular aneurysms than previously reported. The prevalence increased with age in women but not in men.

We report the case of a 55-year-old woman who presented with a severe pain and a mass in the proximal portion of the medial calf. On sonography, the lesion appeared as a poorly defined hypoechoic lesion with interspersed muscle bundles. A total excision of the lesion was performed.
