Professor Soo Mi Cho's research lab focuses on the intersection of neurological disorders, particularly migraine and epilepsy, with systemic and physiological factors such as microbiota, sleep, and cerebrovascular health. The lab investigates the role of oral dysbiosis and perivascular changes in migraine pathogenesis, explores sleep-related biomarkers for postoperative delirium using machine learning, and applies advanced neuroimaging techniques like SEEG to refine surgical outcomes in epilepsy. A key emphasis is on identifying objective, measurable factors—ranging from microbial signatures to imaging markers—that can improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment optimization in neurological conditions.
