Professor Soo-Young Yoon's research lab focuses on translational nephrology and clinical biomarker discovery, with a strong emphasis on acute and chronic kidney diseases, including acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The lab investigates novel urinary and systemic biomarkers for early diagnosis, prognosis, and personalized management of kidney disorders, particularly in the context of emerging health challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional research directions include immune-mediated drug reactions, such as cephalosporin hypersensitivity, and the pathological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative and hematopoietic disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and myeloproliferative syndromes.
