Professor Soobin Choi's research lab specializes in social and behavioral psychology, with a focus on health communication, public health messaging, and behavioral change. The lab investigates how message design—particularly social distance cues and concreteness—affects individuals’ intentions to engage in prosocial health behaviors, such as organ donation. Using experimental and survey-based methodologies grounded in construal level theory, the lab explores psychological mechanisms like issue involvement to improve the effectiveness of public health campaigns. The research aims to bridge theory and practice by developing evidence-based communication strategies that enhance public engagement in critical health initiatives.
