Professor Soonho Kwon's research lab focuses on environmental health and toxicology, particularly the detection and risk assessment of mycotoxins such as ochratoxin A and zearalenone in food systems. The lab also investigates cellular signaling mechanisms, especially calcium dynamics in fibroblasts mediated by growth factors like PDGF, using advanced imaging techniques. Additionally, the lab applies innovative machine learning approaches to atmospheric chemistry, addressing complex challenges in urban air pollution by improving the attribution of ozone-forming precursors. These interdisciplinary efforts span molecular biology, environmental toxicology, and environmental data science.
