Professor Su Jong Yu's research lab specializes in hepatology and liver cancer, with a strong focus on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its complex interplay with underlying liver diseases such as hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The lab investigates prognostic factors, treatment outcomes, and molecular mechanisms underlying liver carcinogenesis, including the role of viral load, visceral adiposity, and lipid metabolism. It also explores clinical risks associated with targeted therapies, such as rituximab-induced HBV reactivation in lymphoma patients. The research integrates clinical epidemiology, radiological imaging, and molecular profiling to improve risk stratification and personalized management of liver disease.
