Professor Sun-Young Bae's research focuses on modern British literature, particularly the Bildungsroman tradition, with an emphasis on coming-of-age narratives and female identity formation. Her work explores intergenerational relationships, especially the complex dynamics between mothers and daughters, within postcolonial and feminist literary frameworks. She examines how personal and societal transformations are reflected in novels such as Doris Lessing’s *The Children of Violence* series, situating these works within broader historical and cultural contexts.
