Professor Sung-Baek Sim's research lab focuses on clinical and translational studies in pediatric and neonatal health, with a strong emphasis on metabolic, neurological, and respiratory conditions in infants and children. The lab investigates critical issues such as energy drink consumption patterns among youth, the use of dexamethasone in preterm infants to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and the management of rare neurological disorders like hemimegalencephaly and hepatic hemangioma in infancy. The research also extends to environmental health, including atmospheric aerosol measurements and their impact on health. Overall, the lab integrates clinical data with public health and environmental science to improve early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies in pediatric populations.
