Professor Sung-hoon No's research lab specializes in gastrointestinal oncology, with a strong focus on gastric cancer biology, molecular subtyping, and personalized treatment strategies. 15BACKGROUND: The diagnosis and treatment of recurrent gastric cancer remains difficult. The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors for recurrence of gastric cancer and the prognosis for these patients. Gastric cancer is a heterogeneous cancer, making treatment responses difficult to predict. Here we show that we identify two distinct molecular subtypes, mesenchymal phenotype (MP) and epithelial phenotype (EP), by analyzing genomic and proteomic data.
