研究室紹介
Professor Sung Joo Park's research lab focuses on interdisciplinary biomedical and technological innovation, spanning molecular pharmacology, clinical neurophysiology, placental biology, and digital culture analytics. The lab investigates the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of natural compounds like vanillic acid, evaluates diagnostic accuracy of nerve conduction studies for peripheral nerve disorders, explores the role of Hox genes in placental development, and examines emergent cultural patterns in online collaborative platforms such as Wikipedia. Additionally, the lab contributes to next-generation memory technology development, particularly high-capacity DDR5 modules for big data and cloud computing infrastructure.

15Vanillic acid is a benzoic acid derivative that is used as a flavoring agent. It is an oxidized form of vanillin. At present, the mechanisms by which vanillic acid exerts its anti-inflammatory effects are incompletely understood. In this study, we attempted to determine the effects of vanillic acid on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory responses in mouse peritoneal macrophages. Our findings indicate that vanillic acid inhibits LPS-induced production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α an
Nerve conduction studies are used for the electrodiagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), with a wide range of sensitivityand specificity reported for each tests in clinical studies. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy ofvarious nerve conduction tests and determine the properties of the most accurate test. Forty patients with clinically confirmedCTS and 40 healthy controls were included in the study. All patients and controls underwent various nerve conduction studypro
The placenta is an extraembryonic tissue that is formed between mother and fetus and mediates delivery of nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the fetus. Because of its essential role in sustaining the growth of the fetus during gestation, defects in its development and function frequently result in fetal growth retardation or intrauterine death, depending on its severity. Vertebrate Hox genes are well known transcription factors that are essential for the proper organization of the body plan
Spurred by the increasing market needs for big data and cloud services, global server suppliers and hyper- scalers are looking to adopt high-speed and large-capacity memory modules. To fulfill this trend, the brand- new low-voltage operable DDR5 (double data rate 5th generation) memory can be an appropriate solution, with the highest speed of 7.2 Gbps and the largest capacity of 512 GB. However, some critical obstacles, such as increased capacity and high-speed I/O requirements, unstable power n
Understanding online culture is becoming crucial in the global and connected world. Contrary to conventional attitudinal surveys used in cultural research, this study uses the approach of directly observing culture-specific behavior that emerges from online collaboration on the Internet. The editing data of Wikipedia were analyzed in 12 languages. Distinctive cultural dimensions were identified, including collectivism, extraversion, boldness, and egalitarianism. Using network analysis, the langu
This paper presents an adaptive algorithm to generate a near-optimal closed-loop solution for a non-zero sum differential game by periodically updating the solutions of the two-point boundary-value problem. Applications to competitive advertising problem show that the adaptive algorithm can be used as an efficient tool to solve the differential game problem in which one player may take advantage of the other's non-optimal play.
The use of Box-Jenkins technique is still very limited due to the high level of knowledge required in comprehending the technique and the cumbersome iterative procedure which requires a large amount of cost and time. This paper proposes a method of automating the univariate Box-Jekins modelling to overcome the limitations of subjective identification in iterative procedure by using Variate Difference method, D-statistic and Pattern Recognition algorithm combined with Akaike's Information Criteri
