Professor Sung-Kyoo Ahn's research lab focuses on advancing precision oncology in breast cancer, with a strong emphasis on understanding tumor heterogeneity, molecular subtypes, and prognostic biomarkers. The lab investigates the clinical and molecular implications of key genetic alterations—such as p53 mutations and receptor status—particularly in Korean patient populations. It also explores innovative imaging techniques, like ex vivo shear-wave elastography, to improve the accuracy of lymph node metastasis detection during surgery. Overall, the lab integrates clinical oncology with molecular pathology to identify therapeutic targets and improve patient outcomes in metastatic and aggressive breast cancer subtypes.
