Professor Sung Yang's research lab focuses on translational and clinical studies in pediatric and metabolic health, with a strong emphasis on early-life determinants of chronic disease. Key research directions include the impact of environmental factors—such as climate change and air pollution—on childhood allergic sensitization and cardiovascular risk, as well as the hormonal and metabolic mechanisms underlying precocious puberty and type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents. The lab also investigates novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for rare genetic conditions like Turner syndrome, integrating advanced genetic techniques and personalized hormone therapy.
