Professor Sungjoon Park's research lab specializes in interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of urban design, biomedical data science, and advanced manufacturing. The lab investigates urban spatial configurations and regional color identity using computational methods such as space syntax and NCS color analysis, aiming to inform sustainable urban planning and policy. In parallel, the lab develops bioinformatics tools like CONFIGURE to identify novel regulatory modules in gene expression data, with applications in precision oncology. Additionally, the lab pioneers innovative micro-manufacturing techniques, including magnetic abrasive finishing for micro-scale components, to advance precision engineering and medical device fabrication.
