Professor Sunny You's research lab specializes in spinal cord and orthopedic biomechanics, with a focus on cervical spine disorders such as cervical spondylotic myelopathy and ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). The lab investigates the morphometric and kinematic changes of the spinal cord using dynamic MRI, evaluates radiological predictors for surgical outcomes, and compares spinal fixation techniques in adult spinal deformity. Research integrates clinical outcomes with advanced imaging and finite element modeling to optimize surgical decision-making and improve patient recovery.
