研究室紹介

Professor Tae Min Kim's research lab specializes in hematologic malignancies, with a primary focus on lymphomas—particularly extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and follicular lymphoma. The lab investigates prognostic factors, metabolic imaging biomarkers (such as FDG-PET parameters), and novel targeted therapies, including bispecific antibodies and small molecule inhibitors, to improve outcomes in relapsed/refractory and treatment-naïve lymphoma patients. A key emphasis is on translating imaging and molecular markers into clinical decision-making tools for personalized therapy.

This study was launched to determine the prognostic significance of local tumor invasiveness (LTI) in 114 patients diagnosed with stage I(E)/II(E) extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (NTCL). LTI was defined as bony invasion or destruction or tumor invasion of the skin. Complete remission (CR), overall survival (OS), and disease-free survival (DFS) were compared between each group according to LTI, Ann Arbor stage, and International Prognostic Index (IPI). LTI was observed

BACKGROUND: This study was undertaken to evaluate the prognostic value of quantitative metabolic parameters in [(18) F]2-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography (PET) for diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). METHODS: A total of 140 DLBCL patients underwent FDG-PET scans before rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone (R-CHOP) chemotherapy. The maximal standardized uptake value (SUVmax ) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) were calculated, with the

BACKGROUND: Odronextamab, a CD20×CD3 bispecific antibody that engages cytotoxic T cells to destroy malignant B cells, has demonstrated encouraging activity across multiple subtypes of relapsed/refractory (R/R) B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This phase II study (ELM-2; NCT03888105) evaluated odronextamab in patients with R/R follicular lymphoma after two or more lines of systemic therapy. Patients received intravenous odronextamab in 21-day cycles, with step-up dosing in cycle

Extranodal NK / T‐cell lymphoma, nasal type: New staging system and treatment strategies
Tae Min Kim, Dae Seog Heo
SJR Q1Cancer ScienceOA

Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (NTCL) is characterized by clinical heterogeneity based on clinical prognostic factors and survival outcome. NTCL subsets are classified as upper aerodigestive tract (UAT) NTCL or non-UAT NTCL; non-UAT has pathologic similarity to UAT-NTCL but is a clinically distinct subtype. Due to the clinical heterogeneity of NTCL, optimal treatment modalities and prognostic factors have been difficult to determine. Ann Arbor staging for lymphomas and the International Prognosti

This retrospective study was launched to evaluate the efficacy of doxycycline and to find independent predictors of a clinical response in patients with ocular adnexal lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (OAML). Thirty-eight patients with newly diagnosed, localized OAML received doxycycline for 3 weeks (12 patients) or 6 weeks (26 patients). Clinical factors including absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) and neutrophil count (ANC) were compared between responders and non-responders. After a

Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LC) is a metastatic cancer invading the central nervous system (CNS). We previously reported a metabolomic diagnostic approach as tested on an animal model and compared with current modalities. Here, we provide a proof of concept by applying it to human LC originating from lung cancer, the most common cause of CNS metastasis. Cerebrospinal fluid from LC (n = 26) and normal groups (n = 41) were obtained, and the diagnosis was established with clinical signs, cytolog

Purpose Poziotinib, a pan-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has shown potent activity against wild type of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family kinases including EGFR, HER2, and HER4 and EGFR-mutant cells in vitro. Two phase I studies were conducted to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), pharmacokinetics, safety, and antitumor activity against advanced solid tumors. Epstein-Barr virus-positive T/NK-cell lymphoproliferative diseases (EBV-T/NK-LPDs) include several overlapping EBV-related conditions with variably aggressive courses. For prognostic categorization, we retrospectively analyzed 42 EBV-T/NK-LPD cases. Male (79% [33/42]), young (≤40 years; 83% [35/42]) patients and T-cell lineage (81% [34/42]; CD8/CD4 = 1.8) were predominant. Clinicopathologically, three systemic and one cutaneous category were developed: hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH; 26
