Professor Taesung Jeon's research lab specializes in translational cancer research, focusing on molecular biomarkers and immune microenvironments in solid tumors. The lab investigates genetic alterations such as 3q amplification and hormonal receptor status using advanced molecular techniques like NanoString nCounter and RT-qPCR, aiming to improve prognosis prediction and treatment stratification in cancers like breast, colorectal, and squamous cell carcinomas. A key focus is on tumor microenvironment components, including Tertiary Lymphoid Structures (TLS), to understand their role in anti-tumor immunity and clinical outcomes. The lab also explores rare and complex neoplasms, such as giant epidermal cysts and extraskeletal osteochondromas, contributing to diagnostic and pathological understanding.

Extraskeletal osteochondroma, a variant of chondroma, typically arises in the para-articular location of hands and feet. It is a rare disease and is particularly uncommon when joint components are not involved or localized away from joints. Herein, we report a case of extraskeletal osteochondroma in the posterior neck of a 66-year-old female. The characteristic radiologic finding of our case is presented, along with the typical findings of the disease and review of related literature reports.
