研究室紹介

Professor Wan-mo Jeong's research lab specializes in theoretical nuclear physics, focusing on the structure and collective excitations of rare-earth even-even nuclei. The lab employs advanced models such as the interacting boson model II and the scissor mode to investigate rotational bands, backbending phenomena, and quadrupole deformations in heavy nuclei. Their work provides deep insights into the behavior of high-spin states and the emergence of superbands and G bands in rare-earth isotopes.

Scissor mode applied to the yrast band of the rare-earth nuclei
J. K. Hwang, Wonmo Chung
SJR Q1Physical Review C

The scissor mode was applied to the yrast rotational band of the rare-earth even-even nuclei from $^{152}\mathrm{Gd}$ to $^{192}\mathrm{Os}$. The quadrupole deformations and backbending and forebending effects are well explained. This approach shows that the uppermost angular momentum of the G band exists and the superband and G band are made on the basis of the scissor mode. It is thought that this classical approach of the interacting boson model II can be reasonable in order to explain the lo
