Professor Wan-Suk Jang's research lab specializes in the intersection of media, technology, and consumer behavior, with a strong focus on sport spectatorship, digital influence, and artificial intelligence in journalism. The lab explores how social media influencers, team identification, and algorithmic content affect consumer emotions, trust, and decision-making. Key research directions include the psychological mechanisms behind audience engagement, the role of perceived credibility and attractiveness in influencer marketing, and the impact of AI-generated content on user perception and persuasion. The lab also develops psychometrically robust measurement tools, such as the Spectator-based Sports Team Reputation (SSTR) scale, to advance theory and practice in sport management and media studies.

Based on self-determination theory, the current research examined the effect of team identification on spectators’ energy and happiness.
