Professor Won‐Oak Oh's research lab focuses on health promotion, cultural competence in nursing, and mental health outcomes in diverse populations. The lab investigates factors influencing cultural sensitivity among nursing students, internet addiction among adolescents, post-traumatic growth following disasters, parenting experiences of families with children with ADHD, and patient safety interventions in pediatric healthcare settings. Research directions emphasize psychological resilience, empathy, and systemic support to improve healthcare outcomes across multicultural and vulnerable populations. The lab integrates qualitative, quantitative, and mHealth intervention approaches to address pressing public health challenges in South Korea and beyond.

Institutional support to enhance visiting nurses' empowerment by assuring the significance of their job and specific strategies to enhance their empathy would be helpful to improve the cultural competence of visiting nurses.
