研究室紹介
Professor Woo-kyung Kim's research lab specializes in urban spatial analysis and environmental informatics, focusing on the integration of solar radiation and microclimate effects into urban network modeling. The lab investigates how environmental factors such as solar shading influence pedestrian mobility and urban centrality, using geospatial analytics and 3D urban modeling. Their work bridges urban planning, environmental science, and data-driven design to create more livable and sustainable cities. Current research emphasizes the development of shade-weighted metrics for urban network analysis, particularly in dense metropolitan areas like Seoul.

1This study quantifies shade formed by buildings across the entire area of Seoul and performs a shade-weighted centrality analysis by integrating it into the pedestrian network. To achieve this, the Shade Effect Index (SEI) was calculated for three time points (11:00, 14:00, and 17:00) based on building geometries and solar positions and projected onto individual road segments to reinterpret travel costs. Subsequently, shade-weighted degree, closeness, and betweenness centrality measures were com
