유준상, 허수정, 황원일, 차원철
https://doi.org/10.4258/hir.2023.29.1.64

Objectives: Although medical artificial intelligence (AI) systems that assist healthcare professionals in critical care settingsare expected to improve healthcare, skepticism exists regarding whether their potential has been fully actualized. Therefore,we aimed to conduct a qualitative study with physicians and nurses to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns regardingmedical AI; explore their expected responses to recommendations by medical AI that contradicted their judgments;and d

Background: Ear-loop-type Korean Filter 94 masks (KF94 masks, equivalent to the N95 and FFP2) are broadly used in health care settings in Korea for the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Methods: A prospective randomized open-label study was designed to identify differences in the fitting performance between mask wearing methods in three different types of KF94 mask with ear loops between January to March 2021. General-fitting involved wearing an earloop-type KF94 mask, and tight-fitting involve

Purpose: For patients with time-critical acute coronary syndrome, reporting electrocardiogram (ECG) findings is the most important component of the treatment process. We aimed to develop and validate an automated Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)-based 12-lead ECG mobile alert system for use in an emergency department (ED). Materials and Methods: An automated FHIR-based 12-lead ECG alert system was developed in the ED of an academic tertiary care hospital. The system was aimed at

Purpose: The population of senior citizens is rapidly growing in Korea, and this would inevitably result in the increase of elder abuse. This study was designed to survey healthcare providers in the emergency department, who may have a high probability of coming into contact with abused senior citizens, on the awareness of elder abuse, and to evaluate the level of legal knowledge and standard of education amongst these care providers. Methods: This study was a descriptive, cross-sectional survey

Purpose: Coronary artery disease is the most commoncause of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). However, there are no definite indications of coronary angiography(CAG) followed by percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) in patients with OHCA for diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this study was to determine correlation betweenECG findings and results of CAG of patients with return ofspontaneous circulation after OHCA. Methods: We collected data from January 2010 until April2014. CAG was perfo

SJR Q3Studies in health technology and informaticsOA

Emergency Departments (ED) require rapid differentiation of time-sensitive critical conditions. We present a dynamic Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) utilizing a Time-Aware Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) framework. In a retrospective pilot study of 70 cases (Aortic Dissection, MI, Stroke, and Trauma Controls), the system's Top-1 diagnostic accuracy significantly improved from 69.5% (triage) to 86.7% (discharge). This validates the system's capability to integrate evolving FHIR data

SJR Q1Open MINDOA

Background:Emergency Department (ED) length of stay (LOS) is a critical performance indicator in healthcare systems, influencing patient outcomes, overcrowding, and resource utilization. Predicting LOS can enhance patient flow and resource management. While traditional statistical methods have been used, the advent of machine learning (ML) has significantly improved prediction accuracy. This scoping review aims to examine the latest trends in LOS prediction using not only traditional statistical

Background: Therapeutic hypothermia has been recommended as a standard treatment of cardiac arrest patients after return of spontaneous circulation. There are various methods to drop patient’s core body temperature below 33.5oC. We compared the cooling rate of the conventional cooling method using cold saline bladder irrigation with the commercial hydrogel pad in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients. Methods: We collected data retrospectively from the Samsung Medical Center hypothermia

This scoping review aims to map the technological landscape of multimodal digital monitoring systems designed to support "aging in place" for older adults by addressing the "contextual blindness" associated with traditional single-sensor approaches. By integrating diverse data streams—including physiological, environmental, and behavioral data—this study explores the current extent and nature of systems used to assess activities of daily living (ADL) and functional health. Objective: Elevated levels of cardiac troponin in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients admitted to the emergency department (ED) is not well understood and is often ignored. This study aimed to investigate the impact of cardiac troponin I (TnI) levels on the clinical outcome of patients visiting the ED with or without CKD. Methods: In this retrospective single-center cohort study, we enrolled patients visiting the ED without a diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Elevated cardiac TnI was

대한응급의학회지

Objective: As the cycling population grows, the lack of public awareness about the dangers of cycling while under the influence of alcohol is a signifant problem. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between alcohol consumption and bicycle-related injuries such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and excess mortality ratio-adjusted injury severity score (EMR-ISS). Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis using data collected from the Korean Emergency Department-based
