Professor Yong-Chul Kim's research spans diverse fields, including p-adic analysis and harmonic analysis on p-adic vector spaces, where he investigates foundational operators such as the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function, Riesz potentials, and BMO spaces, with a focus on dimension- and prime-independent operator norms. His work also extends to the historical and legal analysis of cultural heritage protection, particularly examining the influence of Meiji-era Japanese cultural property laws on Korea’s 1962 Cultural Heritage Protection Act. This interdisciplinary approach connects mathematical analysis with historical legal studies, emphasizing structural parallels and ideological legacies in cultural preservation frameworks. The lab explores both abstract mathematical structures and their socio-historical implications, especially in East Asian cultural policy.

15Prior to 1984, the stock price reaction to announcements of convertible issue in the domestic market was significantly negative, while the reaction to issues on the Eurobond market was smaller in absolute value and not consistently negative. After 1984, this difference in stock price reactions seems to have disappeared. The difference in abnormal returns before 1984 cannot be explained by existing signaling models of convertible bond issues. It is consistent, however, with the hypothesis that Am
Abstract For a prime number p , let Q p be the p ‐adic field and let Q p d denote a vector space over Q p which consists of all d ‐tuples of Q p . Then we study the p ‐adic version of the Calderón–Zygmund decomposition, Carleson measures on the vector space Q p d +1 and the space BMO ( Q p d ) of functions of bounded mean oscillation on Q p d . In particular, it turns out that the operator norms of various oncoming operators are independent of the dimension d and the prime number p , which is on
We give a simple proof of certain mapping properties of the p-adic Riesz potential and Bessel potential, and the p-adic version of the Sobolev embedding theorem obtained in
For a prime number p, let <TEX>$\mathbb{Q}_p$</TEX> denote the p-adic field and let <TEX>$\mathbb{Q}_p^d$</TEX> denote a vector space over <TEX>$\mathbb{Q}_p$</TEX> which consists of all d-tuples of <TEX>$\mathbb{Q}_p$</TEX>. For a function f <TEX>${\in}L_{loc}^1(\mathbb{Q}_p^d)$</TEX>, we define the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function of f on <TEX>$\mathbb{Q}_p^d$</TEX> by <TEX>$$M_pf(x)=sup\frac{1}{\gamma{\in}\mathbb{Z}|B_{\gamma}(x)|H}{\int}_{B\gamma(x)}|f(y)|dy$$</TEX>, where |E|<TEX>$_H$</TEX
