Professor Yongil Cho's research lab specializes in biomedical informatics and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making. The lab conducts population-based cohort studies to evaluate drug safety and cardiovascular risk, particularly concerning arrhythmias associated with antibiotic use. It also develops AI-driven tools for medical image analysis, such as detecting pneumothorax in chest X-rays using neural networks, and investigates viral etiologies of pediatric gastroenteritis. Additionally, the lab contributes to the validation of AI-enhanced electrocardiography for early detection of acute myocardial infarction in emergency settings.
