Professor Yoo Goo-han's research lab specializes in urological and renal diseases, with a strong focus on molecular mechanisms underlying kidney cancer, bladder dysfunction in neurological disorders, and the epigenetic regulation of gene expression in urological pathologies. The lab investigates DNA methylation patterns—particularly hyper- and hypomethylation—of key genes in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, exploring their associations with clinicopathological features. Additionally, the lab examines genetic polymorphisms in inflammatory cytokines, such as IL10 and its receptors, in relation to benign prostate hyperplasia, particularly in the Korean population. Their work integrates molecular biology, urodynamic studies, and high-throughput genomic technologies to uncover biomarkers and pathophysiological pathways in urological diseases.
