研究室紹介
Professor Yoo Jin Park's research spans multiple interdisciplinary domains, focusing on advanced materials for energy applications, stem cell-derived blood cell production, and data-driven urban mobility solutions. Her lab investigates high-efficiency electrocatalysts such as IrO2/Ti electrodes for oxygen evolution reactions under acidic conditions, aiming to enhance noble metal utilization in sustainable energy systems. In parallel, she explores the in vitro differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells into functional red blood cells, addressing challenges in blood supply for rare blood types. Additionally, her work applies machine learning and functional time series analysis to model and predict subway passenger flow using real-world smart card data, contributing to intelligent urban transportation systems.

Under acidic conditions, IrO2 exhibits high catalytic activity with respect to the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the practical application of Ir-based catalysts is significantly limited owing to their high cost in addition to the scarcity of the metal. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of the utilization of such catalysts. In this study, IrO2-coated Ti felt (IrO2/Ti) electrodes were prepared as high-efficiency catalysts for the OER under acidic conditions. By contr
We investigate regional features nearby the subway station using the clustering method called the funFEM and propose a two-step procedure to predict a subway passenger transport flow by incorporating the geographical information from the cluster analysis to functional time series prediction. A massive smart card transaction dataset is used to analyze the daily number of passengers for each station in Seoul Metro. First, we cluster the stations into six categories with respect to their patterns o
BACKGROUND: The in vitro production of mature human red blood cells (RBCs) from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) has been the focus of research to meet the high demand for blood transfusions. However, limitations like high costs and technological requirements restrict the use of RBCs produced by iPSC differentiation to specific circumstances, such as for patients with rare blood types or alloimmunized patients. In this study, we developed a detailed protocol for the generation of iPSC line
Stoichiometric control of Ru, Ag, and tetrazolyl ligands resulted in the formation of different heterometallic Ru-Ag supramolecular architectures. Although the reaction of Ru and 5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-tetrazolyl (LH2) in a molar ratio of 2:1 or 6:4 resulted in the formation of dimeric or hexameric Ru complexes, Ag metal ions caused the Ru complexes to form three-dimensional cylindrical Ru6Ag6L6 and double-cone-shaped Ru6Ag8L6 complexes by occupying vacant coordination sites.
These results suggest that highly HAL-resistant cancer cells can be sensitized with cyclosporine A or elacridar, specific P-gp inhibitors that exert their effects at a low dose. These findings provide important information regarding the sensitization of highly HAL-resistant cells with selective P-gp inhibitors and indicate that elacridar may be used to treat such highly HAL-resistant cancer cells.
Our results, based on the NHID, supports the protective effect of tamoxifen against CVE in Korean breast cancer patients aged 55 and older that is not seen with AIs. Our results can guide the selection of adjuvant hormonal treatment agents for Korean breast cancer patients based on their risk of developing CVE.
Abstract Background Small colony and capnophilic variant cases have been separately reported, but there has been no reports of their simultaneous presence in one isolate. We report a case of Escherichia coli with coexpressed small colony and capnophilic phenotypes causing misidentification in automated biochemical kits and non-reactions in antimicrobial susceptibility test cards. Case presentation An 86-year-old woman developed urinary tract infection from a strain of Escherichia coli with SCV a
Antimicrobial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects of essential oils extracted from Chamaecyparis obtusa (EOCO) have previously been reported. In the present study, the anti-inflammatory effects of EOCO were investigated in two murine models of inflammation: Carrageenan-induced paw edema and thioglycollate-induced peritonitis, and in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. The expression levels of proinflammatory cytokines were analyzed by ELISA, the expression of ni
A Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic bacterial strain, designated EO9T, was isolated from gasoline-contaminated soil in the Republic of Korea. Cells were non-motile short rods showing catalase- and oxidase-positive reactions. Growth was observed at 10–37 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 6.0–9.0 (pH 6.5) and in the presence of 0–0.5 % (w/v) NaCl (0 %). Ubiquinone-10 (Q-10) and spermidine were identified as the predominant respiratory quinone and polyamine, respectively. Summed feature 8 (comprising
Most older persons would prefer “aging in my place,” that is, to remain in good health and live independently in their own home as long as possible. For assisting the independent living of older people, the ability to gather and analyze a user’s daily activity data would constitute a significant technical advance, enhancing their quality of life. However, the general approach based on centralized server has several problems such as the usage complexity, the high price of deployment and expansion
