Professor Yoo Min Han's research lab focuses on gastrointestinal immunology and nutritional metabolism in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with a particular emphasis on the role of key transcription factors like NF-κB in disease pathogenesis and progression. The lab investigates micronutrient deficiencies—especially vitamin D, zinc, and selenium—common in Asian IBD patients, aiming to identify risk factors and improve clinical management. Additionally, the lab explores novel therapeutic agents, such as astragalin, that modulate inflammatory pathways, and contributes to interventional endoscopy through case-based studies on complications of embolization procedures. Their work bridges molecular mechanisms, clinical outcomes, and translational therapeutics in IBD and related gastrointestinal disorders.
