Professor Yoo Soo Jang's research lab specializes in epidemiological and clinical studies focusing on metabolic and liver diseases, particularly nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its metabolic and cardiovascular implications. The lab investigates the role of liver enzymes, uric acid levels, and metabolic health in predicting long-term outcomes such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and mortality. Using large-scale population-based cohorts, the lab explores the interplay between liver fat accumulation, metabolic syndrome, and systemic disease risk, with a strong emphasis on early detection and risk stratification in apparently healthy individuals.
