Professor Yoon Jeong Park's research lab specializes in biomaterials and regenerative medicine, focusing on the development of bioactive scaffolds and delivery systems for tissue engineering and therapeutic applications. The lab investigates bone regeneration using growth factor-immobilized membranes, such as BMP-2-conjugated chitosan nanofibers, and explores novel peptide-based delivery systems like low molecular weight protamines (LMWPs) for enhanced intracellular delivery of therapeutic molecules. Additionally, the lab examines metabolic regulation in adipose tissue, particularly the role of epigenetic mechanisms such as DNA methylation in maintaining adipocyte function and metabolic health.
