Professor You Ji Lee's research lab specializes in nephrology and chronic kidney disease, with a strong focus on the epidemiological and clinical determinants of kidney function decline, dialysis outcomes, and the impact of lifestyle and metabolic factors on renal health. The lab investigates the complex interplay between alcohol consumption, metabolic syndrome, and kidney function, as well as the effects of dialysis adequacy, ultrafiltration rate, and body composition on patient survival and residual kidney function. Their work integrates population-based cohort studies with clinical data from national registries to identify modifiable risk factors and optimize patient management in chronic kidney disease and hemodialysis populations.

Low health-related quality of life (HRQOL) is associated with adverse outcomes in diabetic kidney disease (DKD) patients.
