15The nonoverlapping Y stenting technique is a good alternative to traditional stent-assisted coiling. This technique is particularly suitable for the treatment of broad-neck bifurcation aneurysms.
In patients with CSdAVF and ipsilateral IPS occlusion, various treatment strategies may be applied (given angioanatomic suitability), resulting in excellent procedural and short-term follow-up results. Reopening of an occluded IPS is reasonable as an initial access attempt.
Stent implantation, as well as compact coil packing, at the time of repeat embolization seems beneficial in reducing rates of further recanalization.
The use of protection device significantly decreased stroke after CAS. However, its efficacy was not demonstrated in symptomatic patients. Routine use of protection device during CAS should be critically assessed before mandatory use.
