研究室紹介

Professor Young-hui Yu's research lab specializes in indoor air quality (IAQ) and building environmental health, focusing on mitigating pollutants from indoor sources and optimizing ventilation strategies in residential buildings. The lab investigates the impact of building envelope design, airtightness, and material emissions on occupant health, particularly in relation to 'Sick Building Syndrome.' Key research directions include natural ventilation system design, pollutant dispersion modeling, and the development of evidence-based guidelines for healthy indoor environments. The lab also emphasizes sustainable building practices that balance energy efficiency with healthy indoor air.

Ventilation insufficiency result in high insulation, airtightness of building envelope and emission of toxic substance from building material have been polluting indoor air quality(IAQ). In response to 'Sick House Syndrome' causing a harmful effect on occupant's health, it is required to have guideline of ventilation design to ensure healthy IAQ In order to provide desirable IAQ for occupants, should establish natural ventilation design which be able to control pollutants by decreasing pollution
