Professor Young Mi Jung's research lab focuses on maternal and perinatal health, with a strong emphasis on the interplay between pregnancy complications, metabolic disorders, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes. Key research directions include the impact of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and pre-pregnancy blood pressure on obstetric and neonatal outcomes, as well as the risks of congenital malformations in offspring of women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The lab also investigates genetic predispositions to drug-induced complications, such as ritodrine-induced pulmonary edema, and explores the long-term metabolic consequences of adverse pregnancy outcomes, including metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
