Professor Young Shin Song's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying thyroid carcinogenesis, with a particular emphasis on the roles of key genetic drivers such as BRAF, RAS, and TERT promoter mutations in differentiated and poorly differentiated thyroid cancers. The lab investigates the synergistic effects of these mutations on tumor progression and clinical outcomes, integrating genomics, transcriptomics, and tumor microenvironment analysis. They also explore the impact of hormonal signaling, such as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), on tumor microenvironments, especially in aggressive thyroid cancer subtypes. Their work bridges basic molecular insights with clinical translation to improve risk stratification and therapeutic strategies.
