Professor Young Song's research lab specializes in translational biomedical research, focusing on the mechanisms and therapeutic applications of pharmacological agents in critical care and metabolic diseases. Key research directions include the renoprotective and neuroprotective effects of dexmedetomidine in surgical and neurological conditions, the role of autophagy and mitophagy in metabolic liver disease, and the neuroprotective potential of pregabalin under hyperglycemic stress. The lab integrates preclinical animal models with clinical biomarker analysis to explore novel therapeutic strategies for acute kidney injury, stroke, and postoperative complications.
