研究室紹介

Professor Youngbin Song's research lab specializes in cardiovascular imaging and interventional cardiology, with a strong focus on improving the diagnosis and prognosis of coronary artery disease using advanced imaging modalities such as computed tomography angiography (CTA) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). The lab investigates biomarkers like D-dimer and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) to predict myocardial injury and clinical outcomes in acute myocardial infarction. Additionally, the lab explores interventional strategies in complex coronary lesions, including bifurcation stenting and reperfusion timing in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), with an emphasis on optimizing patient outcomes in real-world clinical settings.

Background Ongoing advancements of coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA) continue to challenge the role of invasive coronary angiography (ICA) as the gold standard for the evaluation of coronary artery disease (CAD). We sought to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of 320-slice CTA for detecting obstructive CAD in reference to ICA and nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging using single-photon emission computed tomography. In STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI, high D-dimer levels on admission were associated with a larger myocardial infarct size, a greater extent of AAR, and lower MSI, as assessed by CMR data. Elevated initial D-dimer level may be a marker of advanced myocardial injury in patients treated with primary PCI for STEMI.

This study evaluated the prognostic implications of post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). A total of 309 patients with AMI who underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and a complete blood cell count within 24 hours before and after PCI were enrolled. Primary outcome was infarct size. Patients were assigned to high (n = 118) or low (n = 191) NLR groups according to the best cut-off value of

Background: Although 1-stent with provisional approach is the preferred strategy for the treatment of bifurcation lesions, the optimal treatment strategy according to lesion location is still debatable. This study aimed to identify whether clinical outcomes according to treatment strategy differed between left main (LM) and non-LM bifurcation lesions in the second-generation drug-eluting stent era. Methods: The Coronary Bifurcation Stenting registry III is a retrospective multicenter registry of

Pregnancy outcomes in patients with congenital heart disease have not been fully assessed in Korea. Forty-nine pregnancies that occurred in 34 women with congenital heart disease who registered at our hospital between September 1995 and April 2006 were reviewed. Spontaneous abortions occurred in two pregnancies at 6+1 and 7 weeks, and another two underwent elective pregnancy termination. One maternal death in puerperium occurred in a woman with Eisenmenger syndrome. Maternal cardiac complication

The impact of treatment delays to reperfusion on patient mortality after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is controversial. We analyzed 5,069 patients included in the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry (KAMIR) between November 2005 and January 2007. We selected 1,416 patients who presented within 12 hr of symptom onset and who were treated with primary PCI. The overall mortality at one month was 4.4%. The medians of door-to-b
