Professor Yuseok Park's research lab specializes in emergency medicine and critical care, with a focus on improving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, airway management, and post-resuscitation care. The lab investigates innovative tools such as the GlideScope video laryngoscope to enhance training and outcomes in emergency airway management, particularly for less experienced providers. It also conducts clinical research on complications from chest compressions, renal recovery after cardiac arrest, and therapeutic temperature management, aiming to optimize survival and neurological outcomes. Additionally, the lab explores nanomaterials synthesis, particularly ceria nanoparticles, for potential biomedical and industrial applications.

15This study suggests that the GVL could be an option for airway management even by emergency physicians with little experience and no training in its use.
The ceria nanoparticles were synthesized using supercritical methanol with decanoic acid as the surface modifier in a continuous mode. Primary particles ranging 2−3 nm were loosely aggregated and formed secondary particles with size of 30−40 nm. The nanoparticles have good dispersability in ethylene glycol.
