研究室紹介

Professor Yxk12's research lab specializes in cardiovascular and geriatric health, focusing on patient-reported outcomes, self-management in chronic diseases, and physiological stress responses. The lab investigates health-related quality of life, cardiac self-efficacy, and perceived health status among elderly and cardiac patients, with an emphasis on psychosocial and behavioral factors influencing health outcomes. Key research directions include the impact of chronic conditions like atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease on daily functioning and psychological well-being, as well as biomarkers of stress such as salivary alpha-amylase and catecholamines.

Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients Newly Diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation
Younhee Kang, Robert C. Bahler
SJR Q1European Journal of Cardiovascular NursingOA

INTRODUCTION: Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained cardiac rhythm disturbance encountered in clinical practice. Despite its high prevalence and the associated high number of hospital admissions, few studies document the actual impact of atrial fibrillation on the patient. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and to examine the impact of seriousness of illness on HRQOL in patients newly diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. METHOD

Psychological stress‐induced changes in salivary alpha‐amylase and adrenergic activity
Younhee Kang
SJR Q2Nursing and Health Sciences

The aim of the study was to examine the relationships among salivary alpha-amylase, plasma catecholamines, blood pressure, and heart rate during psychological stress. This study used a pretest-post-test experimental design with a control group, using repeated measures. A total of 33 participants was divided into the experimental group (n = 16) that underwent a college academic final test as the psychological stress and the control group (n = 17) that did not undergo the test. The levels of saliv

Cardiac self‐efficacy and its predictors in patients with coronary artery diseases
Younhee Kang, In‐Suk Yang
SJR Q1Journal of Clinical Nursing

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To investigate cardiac self-efficacy and its predictors among patients with coronary artery diseases. BACKGROUND: Patients with coronary artery diseases must perform the health behaviour to prevent recurrent cardiac events. It has been already well known that self-efficacy is a vital factor in both initiating and maintaining health behaviours. DESIGN: Descriptive correlational and cross-sectional survey design. METHODS: Subjects were interviewed using structured study questi

Nurses’ Experience of Nursing Workload-Related Issues during Caring Patients with Dementia: A Qualitative Meta-Synthesis
Younhee Kang, Yujin Hur
SJR Q2International Journal of Environmental Research and Public HealthOA

The behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), which appear in all dementia patients, demand sizable commitments of time and effort from nurses. This study aims to identify issues related to the workloads of nurses who provide care for dementia patients via qualitative meta-synthesis. Eleven articles were selected using a systematic review flowchart, which were then evaluated for their quality using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program checklist. Collected data were analyzed usin

Effect of Uncertainty on Depression in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation
Younhee Kang
Progress in Cardiovascular Nursing

This cross-sectional survey study aimed to determine the effects of uncertainty on depression through the appraisal within the "uncertainty in illness" model. In 81 subjects with atrial fibrillation, individuals with greater symptom severity perceived more uncertainty. Uncertainty was appraised as a danger rather than an opportunity. While the appraisal of opportunity had a negative relationship with depression, the appraisal of danger was positively associated with depression. The indirect effe

The relationships between uncertainty and its antecedents in Korean patients with atrial fibrillation
Younhee Kang
SJR Q1Journal of Clinical Nursing

OBJECTIVES: The aim of the study was to examine the relationships between uncertainty and its antecedents, including education, social support and symptom frequency in Korean patients with atrial fibrillation. BACKGROUND: The antecedents of uncertainty were theoretically identified from Mishel's theory of uncertainty in illness. There is a need to examine empirically whether theoretically driven antecedents of uncertainty work in a way that the theory proposed. DESIGN: Descriptive correlational
