연구실 소개
조아라 교수의 연구실은 생물정보학과 합성생물학을 융합한 연구를 중심으로, 암 유전자의 기능적 영향을 네트워크 기반으로 평가하는 MUFFINN 기법을 개발하며, 암 유전체 분석의 정밀도를 높이는 데 기여하고 있습니다. 또한, 모델 생물인 *C. elegans*의 다중 온톨로지 데이터 통합을 바탕으로 한 지능형 가설 생성 서버 'WormNet v3' 개발을 통해 고고도 생물학적 데이터의 의미적 해석을 가능하게 합니다. 이와 더불어, 인간 대사 증후군의 전단계와 만성질환 간의 연관성을 규명하는 인구역학 연구를 통해 질병의 조기 진단 및 예방 전략을 모색하고 있습니다. 특히, 실험 동물 사용의 윤리적 고려사항을 통합한 3Rs 원칙 기반의 연구 설계도 함께 진행하고 있습니다.

A thermophilic lipase of Bacillus thermoleovorans ID-1 was cloned and sequenced. The lipase gene codes 416 amino acid residues and contains the conserved pentapeptide Ala-X-Ser-X-Gly as other Bacillus lipase genes.
