본 연구는 삽화적 미래사고 구체성과 불안 및 우울 간의 관계를 탐색하였다. 범불안과 관련이 높은 심리적 변인들의 영향을 배제한 후에도 삽화적 미래사고 구체성이 범불안 수준과 유의미한 연관성을 보이는지 살펴보았으며, 삽화적 미래사고 구체성과 우울 간의 관계 및 삽화적 미래사고를 구체적으로 떠올리는 데 영향을 미치는 변인들을 확인하였다. 참여자 165명(남 58명, 여 107명, 평균 연령 24.5세)을 대상으로 미래의 부정적인 상황, 부정적인 상황에 대처하는 상황, 긍정적인 상황을 구체적으로 기술하도록 하였고, 개정된 자서전적 면담 체계를 기반으로 각 조건별 삽화적 미래사고 구체성 수준을 평정하였다. 범불안과 우울 수준을 측정하기 위해 범불안장애 7문항 척도(GAD-7) 및 한국판 역학연구센터 우울척도(K-CES-D)를 사용하였다. 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 미래의 부정적인 상황에 대한 삽화적 미래사고 구체성은 우울 및 걱정의 설명량을 통제한 후에도 범불안 수준을 추가적으로 설명하였다.

본 연구의 주요 목적은 일본 내 동남아 지역연구의 연구동향을 분석하고 그 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 그리고 이를 한국과 비교적 시각에서 살펴보고 한국의 동남아지역연구의 향후 방향과 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 일본의 동향에 대해서는 교토대학 동남아시아지역연구연구소가 발행하고 있는 학술지 『동남아시아연구(東南アジア研究)』의 양적분석을 시도한다. 일본에서 동남아 전문학술지의 발간은 1960년대에 이루어졌으며, 일본의 동남아연구는 서구와는 구별되는 독특한 형태로 발전되고 정착되었다. 동 학술지의 분석을 통해 나타난 가장 큰 특징은 자연과학이 선행하여 초기 동남아연구를 주도해왔으며, 인문·사회과학이 뒤따르는 형태로 진행되어 왔다는 것이다. 지역적으로는 동남아 개별국가에 대한 연구뿐만 아니라, 국민 국가를 초월한 지역단위, 나아가 동남아 외의 지역에 대한 연구가 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 것도 주목할 만한 특징 중 하나였다. 그리고 필드워크를 기반으로 하는 학제연구, 비교연구를 통한 일반화의
