15Most breast cancers (81%) detected at screening US were not seen at mammography, even in retrospect. In addition, 19% had subtle or evident findings missed at mammography.
Unenhanced CT plus MR imaging was more accurate for distinguishing TDLs from glioma or CNS lymphoma than contrast-enhanced MR imaging alone.
PURPOSE: To investigate whether a correlation exists between perfusion parameters obtained from dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and prognostic factors or immunohistochemical subtypes of breast cancers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Quantitative parameters (K(trans) , k(ep) , and v(e) ) of 70 invasive ductal carcinomas were obtained using DCE-MRI as a postprocessing procedure. Correlations between parameters and prognostic factors, including tumor size, axillary nodal st
To evaluate the value of the computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) program applied to diagnostic breast ultrasonography (US) based on operator experience.US images of 100 breast masses from 91 women over 2 months (from May to June 2015) were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Three less experienced and 2 experienced breast imaging radiologists analyzed the US features of the breast masses without and with CAD according to the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) lexicon and categorie
Trastuzumab-conjugated Lipo[MNP@m-SiO2] is a potential treatment tool for targeted drug delivery in Her2/neu-positive breast cancer.
The rate of upgrading to malignancy for benign IDP without atypia was very low, suggesting that close clinical and radiologic observation may be sufficient for patients with benign IDP without atypia on CNB under proper settings.
Background Recent studies suggest that US-guided directional vacuum-assisted removal (DVAR) is a satisfactory alternative to surgery for benign papilloma of the breast and recommend discretionary diagnostic US follow-up without intervention. Purpose To compare the outcomes of benign papilloma without atypia diagnosed with core needle biopsy (CNB) in patients who underwent US-guided DVAR, US follow-up without intervention, or surgery. Materials and Methods This retrospective review included conse
BACKGROUND: The change in apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) measured from diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has been shown to be predictive of pathologic complete response (pCR) for patients with locally invasive breast cancer undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy. PURPOSE: To investigate the additive value of tumor ADC in a multicenter clinical trial setting. STUDY TYPE: Retrospective analysis of multicenter prospective data. POPULATION: In all, 415 patients who enrolled in the I-SPY 2 TRIAL fr
The texture analysis of ADC maps may help to determine the intratumoral spatial heterogeneity of necrosis patterns, amount of cellular proliferation and the vascularity in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 xenograft breast cancer models.
We evaluated whether breast arterial calcification (BAC) is associated with the progression of coronary atherosclerosis in asymptomatic women. This retrospective observational cohort study analysed asymptomatic women from the BBC registry. In 126 consecutive women (age, 54.5 ± 7.0 years) who underwent BAC evaluation and repeated coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) examinations, the coronary arterial calcification score (CACS) and segment stenosis score (SSS) were evaluated to assess
BACKGROUND: ) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has its strength in lesion detection. However, it is not easily used, due to a lower signal-to-noise ratio, eddy current distortions, and prolonged acquisition times. Synthetic DWI does not have these disadvantages because it is based on indirect acquisition, calculated in a voxel-wise manner. PURPOSE: ) DWI in women with breast cancer. STUDY TYPE: Retrospective. POPULATION: A total of 108 patients (median age 49 years [range 32-77]) with 133 breast
OBJECTIVE: We wanted to assess the safety and efficacy of performing radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with non-colorectal liver metastases. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this retrospective study, 25 patients with 40 hepatic metastases (M:F = 17:8; mean age, 57 years; tumor size, 0.5-5.0 cm) from a non-colorectal origin (stomach, biliary, breast, pancreas, kidney and skin) were treated with RFA. The RFA procedures were performed using either an internally cooled electrode or a clustered elec
