연구실 소개
김붕년 교수의 연구실은 주로 아동 및 청소년의 정신건강과 발달에 영향을 미치는 환경독소와 유전적 요인의 상호작용을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 프탈레이트, 비스페놀, 중금속 등 환경오염물질의 노출이 주의력결핍과잉행동장애(ADHD), 자폐양태, 인터넷 중독 등 정신건강 문제와 어떻게 연관되는지 분석하고 있으며, 태생기 및 유아기의 노출 시기별 영향을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한 유전자 다형성과 환경요인의 상호작용이 정신질환 발병에 미치는 영향을 다각도로 탐구하고 있습니다.

BACKGROUND: Although attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms were identified as a key risk factor for Internet gaming disorder (IGD), the effect of ADHD comorbidity on longitudinal course of IGD in the clinical population remains to be further examined. This study aimed to investigate whether ADHD comorbidity in IGD patients affects the recovery, recurrence rates, and trajectories of IGD symptoms, and examine the relationship between the changes in IGD and ADHD symptoms. METHODS
Multi-pollutant mixtures of prenatal and postnatal exposures to four metals affected child IQ at 6 years of age. We found a relationship between manganese exposure at both age 4, and 6 years and children's IQ. Additional studies are warranted to confirm these associations and to control the exposure to different metals during pregnancy and preschool childhood.
