11Abstract Family firms bear two types of agency costs, including type I and type II agency problems, in corporate environmental practices: (1) Outside executives at family firms hesitate to engage in environmental strategies, which can lead to drops in profits; (2) Controlling families employ opportunistically environmental management to achieve their interests. We argue that a primary cause for the agency problems lies on ineffective internal corporate governance at family firms, which can cause
This paper investigates the ownership and location strategies as contingency factors, which affect the relationship between SMEs' open innovation activities and innovation performance in the context of emerging economies. Drawing from the corporate strategy and open innovation literature, we argued that SMEs with state and foreign ownership can more effectively capture economic rents from open innovation in a weak intellectual-property-rights regime. Meanwhile, the subnational environments in wh
Whereas previous articles have documented institutional pressure by governments as a key driver of corporate green innovation, relatively less empirical attention has been given to organizational cognitive manipulation by governments. This article theorizes that two-track institutional approaches, especially the combination of institutional pressure (stick) and institutional support (carrot), are instruments for organizational cognitive manipulation. Building on this, we argue that institutional
Abstract This study investigates the relationship between governors' partisanship and the corporate environmental performance of firms in South Korea. According to political ideology perspective, governors' partisanship closely influences the policy directions and preferences of the provincial administration. Conservative (red) governors tend to induce and encourage competition among firms by deregulating and offering policy benefits to businesses at the provincial level. In response to increase
Stakeholders have heterogeneous expectations and demands for corporate environmental responsibility (CER). Going green may cause potential conflicting-interests among stakeholders, because stakeholders who benefit from environmental-management endorse making and implementing environmental-friendly policies. In contrast, stakeholders who bear the costs of a firm’s corporate greening may not support CER initiatives. Firms with differentiated strategic-orientation, which reflect preferences of sele
Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma refers to a type of marginal zone lymphomas, which represent a group of non-Hodgkin lymphomas originated from B lymphocytes of marginal zone. They are classified as extranodal MALT type (MALT lymphoma), splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma and nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma according to clinical and therapeutic implications of the tumor. MALT lymphoma is the most common type of marginal zone lymphoma, and about 5-8% of all B-cell lymphomas
Tracheo-cutaneous fistula is a relatively uncommon complication that can occur after trache-otomy. The possibility of fistula increases in proportion to the duration of intubation and it oc-curs due to the transposition of stratified squamous epithelium in the passage between the tra-cheal mucosa and the skin. There are several surgical techniques to repair trachea-cutaneousfistula, such as primary suture, fistulectomy and primary suture, fistulectomy and secondaryintention healing, and using lo

Background and Objectives:Submandibular sialolithiasis is one of common otolaryngologic diseases. Stones located in the distal portion of Wharton’s duct can be easily removed by intraoral approach. Hilar stone was removed traditionally by excision of submandibular gland. However, intraoral removal of hilar stone or stone of proximal portion of Wharton’s duct has increased recently. In this study, we evaluated clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes of submandibular sialolithiasis accordin
