=목적: 난소의 과립막 세포종 환자 31예의 임상 양상과 치료 결과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 방법: 1997년 1월부터 2005년 4월까지 난소의 과립막 세포종으로 치료받은 환자 31예의 의무 기록을 후향적으로 조사하였다. 성인형 21예, 유년형 4예, 재발형 6예로 구분하여 임상 병리학적 특성, 치료 결과 및 추적 관찰 결과를 의무 기록과 전화 방문을 통해 조사 분석하였다. 결과: 성인형의 중간 연령은 42세 (범위, 20-81세)였으며, 임상 증상은 질 출혈이 10예 (47.6%)로 가장 많았다. 모든 환자들이 병기 I 상태로 진단되었으며, 평균 32개월 (5-103개월)간의 추적 관찰 동안 재발은 없었다. 유년형의 중간 연령은 8세 (2-14세)로 조기 성숙이 2예 (50%)에서 나타났다. 3예는 병기 I로, 1예는 병기 IIIa로 진단되었고, 2예가 BEP 약제로 보조적 항암화학요법을 6차례 시행받았으며, 평균 20.5개월 (16-27)간의 관찰기간 동안 재발은 일어나지 않

난소갑상선종은 갑상선 조직이 양성 낭포성 기형종의 50% 이상을 차지하는 난소종양으로 기형종의 약 2% 정도를 차지하는 드문 질환으로 악성 변화는 5% 미만에서 보고되고 있다. 임상 증상이 비특이적이며 빈도가 낮아 수술 전 진단이 어렵고 대부분 수술 후 병리학적인 소견에 의해 진단된다. 보고된 문헌이 적어 아직까지 진단이나 치료에 대한 방법이 정립되지 않았다. 본 저자들은 부속기 종괴와 하복부 통증을 호소하는 폐경기 여성에서 시험개복술 후 조직학적으로 확진된 악성 난소갑상선종 1 증례를 경험하였기에 간단한 문헌 고찰과 함께 이를 보고하는 바이다.

Multiple primary cancer is defined as the multiple occurrence of malignant neoplasms in the same individual. Due to the development of new diagnostic techniques and the rise in long-term survival of cancer, reports of multiple primary cancers have gradually increased. Herein, we describe the case of a 68-year-old female patient with quadruple primary cancer of the breast, rectum, ovary, and endometrium. For its great rarity, we report this case with a review of the literature.

목적 : Galectin-3는 β-galactoside-결합 단백의 일종으로 세포내 당단백, 세포표면 물질 그리고 세포외 기질 단백과 상호작용하는 세포내 및 세포외 lectin이다. Galectin-3는 상피세포 및 면역세포에 널리 발현되고 그 발현정도는 여러 암종에서 정상 조직에 비해 다양하다고 알려져 있다. 본 저자들은 galectin-3의 발현이 자궁경부종양의 진행에 관여하는지 연구하고자 하였다. 연구 방법 : Galectin-3의 발현은 면역조직화학법을 이용하였는데 전체 90개의 파라핀-고정 자궁경부 조직(10개의 정상자궁경부 표본, 20개의 저등급 편평상피내병변(low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions; LSIL), 20개의 고등급 편평 상피내병변(high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions; HSIL), 그리고 40개의 침윤성 편평세포암(invasive squamous cell carcinomas; IS

목적 : 재발성 자궁경부암에서 paclitaxel, ifosfamide, 그리고 cisplatin은 각각 효과적인 약제로 알려져 있다. 이에 본 저자들은 재발성 자궁경부암에서 위 약제들의 복합 화학요법 (TIP)의 효과를 알아보고자 본 연구를 시행하게 되었다. 연구 방법 : 전체 대상 환자는 43명 이었으며 첫째 날에는 ifosfamide 1.5 g/m2과 paclitaxel 135 mg/m2를 3시간에 걸쳐서 정맥 주사하였으며 cisplatin 50 mg/m2를 30분에 걸쳐서 정맥 주사하였다. 둘째 날과 셋째 날에는 ifosfamide를 투여하였고 매 3주 간격으로 투여하였다. 결과 : 35명에서 최소 3회 이상의 치료를 받았고 이들의 반응을 평가할 수 있었다. 완전 관해 5.7%, 부분 관해 45.7%를 포함하여 51.4%에서 (18명) 반응을 나타내었다. 중앙 반응 기간과 생존률은 각각 8개월과 16개월이었다. 재발된 위치와 조직 유형에 따른 반응율과 생존율의 차이는 없었다.
