연구실 소개
최종원 교수의 연구실은 피부질환, 특히 색소질환과 만성 피부염증 질환에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 비특이성 피부질환인 화이트닝병(vitiligo)과 옥시아크네(nerve-related skin disorder)의 병태생리학적 기전과 치료법에 대한 기반 연구를 지속적으로 수행하고 있으며, 특히 레이저 치료 및 면역조절제를 활용한 비약리적 치료 전략 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 또한 한국인을 대상으로 한 대규모 건강보험 데이터 기반의 전국적 역학 연구를 통해 피부질환과 관련된 자가면역질환, 만성우혈증, 류마티스 질환 등의 유병률 및 관련성을 규명하고 있습니다.

Trichoepithelioma (TE) is a benign neoplasm of the skin that resembles basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in its clinical and histological features. In this study, we evaluate the usefulness of elastic fiber staining and cytokeratin 15 expression pattern in terms of distinguishing TE from BCC. We found that the rotational approaches using cyclosporine and methotrexate reduced the possibility of the development of nephrotoxicity. In addition to other advantage such as quick switching from one agent to another, the rotational therapy using cyclosporine and methotrexate can minimize the adverse events during the systemic treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis.
