연구실 소개

김철훈 교수의 연구실은 간질환, 신경전달물질 수용체의 신호전달 메커니즘, 그리고 신경퇴행성질환과 관련된 단백질 인산화를 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 비알코올성 간지방증과 비알코올성간염의 병태생리적 기전, 메타보로틱 글루타메이트 수용체(mGluR)의 인산화 조절 및 세포내 칼슘 신호 전달, 알츠하이머병에서의 타우 단백질 과인산화 메커니즘을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 이와 함께 아연과 같은 미네랄 이온이 세포 신호전달 및 세포사멸에 미치는 영향을 다각도로 분석하고 있습니다.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become the most common form of liver disease, affecting 20% to 30% of the US population. Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) is a potent inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) activation. PDTC inhibited basal NF-kappaB activity of endothelial cells. PDTC, however, failed to inhibit basal NF-kappaB activity after withdrawal of serum in the media, and the inhibitory effect of PDTC could be restored by addition of zinc.
