연구실 소개

장대식 교수의 연구실은 천연물에서 유래한 생활화학적 활성 성분을 중심으로, 당뇨병 합병증, 신경퇴행성 질환, 암 예방 등에 기여할 수 있는 신약 후보 물질의 탐색을 주요 연구 방향으로 삼고 있습니다. 특히 고분자형 당화염기종(AGEs) 형성과 레이저 알도스 환원효소 활성 억제를 통한 당뇨병 관련 병태생리 기전을 규명하고 있으며, 신경염증 및 뇌경색 모델을 활용한 신경보호 작용 메커니즘 연구도 진행 중입니다. 다양한 식물에서 분리된 라이코노이드, 안트라퀴논, 플라바노이드 등 다양한 구조의 자연물 화합물을 체계적으로 분리·구조 규명하고, 그 생리활성 메커니즘을 분석하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.
