연구실 소개

송다섭 교수의 연구실은 조류 인플루엔자 바이러스가 개와 고양이 등 반려동물로 유전자 재조합을 통해 확산되는 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 개와 고양이에서 발생하는 항원성 변이를 겪은 인플루엔자 바이러스의 전파 역학, 임상 양상, 그리고 바이러스의 항원적·유전적 특성 분석을 통해 유행병 예방 전략을 모색하고 있습니다. 최근에는 조류 유래 H3N2 및 H3N1 바이러스의 개와 고양이 내 전파 가능성과 병변 양상, 바이러스 배출 패tern 등을 실험적으로 규명하며 동물병원학적·역학적 통찰을 제공하고 있습니다.

During recent canine influenza surveillance in South Korea, a novel H3N1 canine influenza virus (CIV) that is a putative reassortant between pandemic H1N1 2009 and H3N2 CIVs was isolated. In the past 4 years, incidences of endemic or epidemic respiratory diseases associated with canine influenza H3N2 virus in Asian dogs have been reported in countries such as South Korea and China. Susceptible dogs were brought into contact with dogs experimentally infected with an avian-origin influenza A virus (H3N2) that had been isolated from a pet dog with severe respiratory syndrome. All the experimentally infected and contact-exposed dogs showed elevated rectal temperatures, virus shedding, seroconversion, and severe necrotizing tracheobronchitis and bronchioalveolitis.
