본 논문은 최근 도시성장전략 또는 재생전략으로 각광받고 있는 창조성 논의가 지나치게 도시규모에 갇혀 있어 창조성의 실제를 이루는 다양한 측면을 놓치고 있다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 도시의 창조성이라는 것이 도시에서 드러나는 경향이 큰 건 사실이지만 그 창조성은 도시 외의 다른 규모에서 기인하는 요인도 다양하게 존재한다. 이것이 이른바 다규모적 접근이 필요한 이유다. 외국의 경험들 속에서 드러나는 도시의 창조성은 도시규모에서 드러나는 지표들 외에 국가나 글로벌 규모 또는 근린규모에서의 다양한 요인들이 해당 사회의 도시적 맥락에서 접합한 것이다. 따라서 이를 도시규모에서 드러나는 특징들에 기인하는 것으로 오해해 규범화할 경우 정책적 혼선, 나아가 의도하지 않은 결과들이 일어날 개연성이 높은 것이다. 본 연구에서는 도시 창조성을 다양한 규모에서 경험 연구한 논의들을 종합해 도시 창조성의 실재는 다양한 규모의 내적·외적 관계가 접합됨을 논증하고, 향후 창조적 도시를 향한 정책적 적용에 있어

이 글은 1960년대 광주의 토착 자본과 엘리트들이 상상했던 지역의 공동체를 미시적으로 추적함으로써 국가를 중심으로 논의된 기존의 지역주의 연구를 보완하려는 시도이다. 그 동안의 지역주의 연구는 국가 수준에서 작동하는 요인과 메커니즘을 통해 지역주의에 접근해 온 탓에, 지방 행위자의 행태와 역할을 체계적으로 조명하지 못했다. 이 글에서 다루는 내용은 경계 내부에서 지방행위자들이 지역을 구성하려는 힘과 담론에 관한 이야기이다. 즉 1960년대 광주 지방의 토착자본과 지방 엘리트들이 박정희 정부의 국가 계획에 반응하는 과정에서 호남지역이 어떻게 구성되는지를 물리적, 제도적, 상징적 경계를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 광주를 중심으로 형성된 영역동맹의 지역주의 담론은 호남을 “근대화의 세례를 받지 못한” 소외지역으로 구성했다. 또한 지역 내/외의 언론과 국가로부터 이러한 상징에 대한 승인과정을 겪게 된다. 본 연구에서 확인한 광주 지방의 “아래로부터 지역주의”는 기존의 국가중심 설명방

이 글은 공간을 조형하는 권력의 정치적 논리로서 푸코의 통치성을 적극적으로검토한다. 그리고 한국의 경험에 대한 분석도구로 삼을 때, 서구와 다른 한국의정치지리에서 우리가 문제시해야 할 측면을 시론적으로 검토했다. 이를 위해 영토와 도시를 렌즈로 푸코가 제시한 서구 국가의 통치화 과정을 읽어내려 했다. 본 연구에서는 푸코의 통치성 강의를 주된 텍스트로 삼았다. 그리고 강의 전반에산재되어 있는 통치성의 지리적 차원을 푸코 사유의 흐름을 훼손하지 않는 선에서 재구성 했다. 결과물을 놓고 보건대, 푸코의 통치성에서 영토와 도시는 통치의배경이나 맥락을 형성하는 대상이 아니라, 통치의 등장과 변화에서 중요한 지위를 차지하고 있었고, 권력과 통치의 문제가 생산하는 공간의 구체적 형태들을 확인할 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구에서는 통치성의 한국적 변이 가능성을 가늠해보고, 구체적으로 어떤 측면에서 우리의 정치지리적 특성이 개입하는지 시론적으로검토했다. 이를 통해 동아시아적 문맥을 가진 탈식민국가로서
